To Love A Thief

To Love A Thief

Aboard the S.S. Golgotha heading for New York, the adventurous British Ambassador’s daughter, Marion (Mazie) Sherwood convinces her cousin Freddie to bend the rules so she might participate in a men’s only card game. To her surprise and delight, she wins a packet.

When Lord Blanding accuses her of cheating, Mazie is mortified he would question her honesty. An American at the table, Robert Huntsman, demands he apologize. Blanding, even though disgraced in front of his peers, does so.

Lord Blanding’s mother’s diamond necklace goes missing, and his lordship exacts his revenge by accusing Robert of stealing it. Outraged, Mazie uses her connections so Robert is released from the brig.

Who is this American? None of Mazie’s friends seem to know. She takes a leap of faith and lets him court her.

Their shipboard romance is magical and she realizes falling in love is the grandest adventure of them all.

Until Robert throws a spanner in the works when he confesses he stole Lady Blanding’s necklace. Leaving Mazie in a quandary. Can she love a thief?
